New vaccination policy garners 400 emoji reactions

The Blind Elephant in Hampstead, NC recently published its new vaccination policy. The post drew over 100 reactions, and the owner of the establishment, Tipper, has been dealing with a lot of public scrutinies. He has had to close twice due to Covid-19 exposures, and he is hoping to avoid a third shutdown.

In response to the posts, the owners of the establishment shut down their Facebook page, asking their followers to remove any comments that were anti-vaccine. They also asked if any comments were from customers. After a lengthy discussion, they were able to get the comment blocker turned off. However, they still need to ensure that their staff is vaccinated before they return to work. This means that they have to undergo a thorough cleaning of the bar. It is a process that will take some time.

If this continues, the business could face penalties from both the US and UK governments for failing to remove content that is harmful. A bill called the Online Safety Bill has been introduced in the UK, which could make it illegal for tech companies to fail to remove material that is considered harmful. Check it out here!

Tipper’s eighth year at the bar

Tipper has just completed his eighth year of operating The Blind Elephant in Hampstead, NC. In addition to his traditional bar and restaurant, Tipper has launched a mobile cocktail program, Vagabond Spirits. This program will travel to various events, including tailgating, neighborhood block parties, and whiskey tastings. For a fee, Tipper will set up a beverage station, which will include ice and mixers. There are basic packages, which begin at $250, but customers are encouraged to customize the event to suit their tastes.

While Tipper has been a busy man, he has also had to deal with a lot of negative publicity. Earlier this year, Tipper had to close the Blind Elephant bar for almost a month because of exposure to Covid-19. Tipper estimates that this cut his bottom line by $10,000. He has had to close the bar twice for this reason, but the exposures to this disease have forced him to do a total clean-up and reopen. Click for more info.
